Organised by the Hungarian Government in cooperation with the World Water Council, the mission of the Summit is to make water a source of cooperation, peace and development for all the countries committed to sustainable development. To this end, participants of the Budapest Water Summit 2016 will lay down their proposed solutions for the relevant international bodies by adopting the Budapest Statement 2016.
IRHA will share with the other participants its vision about water security and practical actions which have been taken place since 2006 through the Blue school program.
Since 2007, IRHA has been working to engage the youth in taking actions for better water management through the workshops (2016) to become more aware of their direct environment, awareness sessions in order to generate long term behavior change.
Looking at the bigger picture…IWRM!
Water issues are getting more and more serious because of the increase of pollution, the over-exploitation of ground water resources, the decrease rainfall in certain regions and the occurence of extreme events … Maybe also we thought that we could deal with water related issues just by handling one angle without approaching the complexity of multi actors scenarios, divergent interests and technical constraints. Time has come to take appropriate actions and fully implement Integrated Water Resources Management at watershed levels.
