The International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA)

The IRHA promotes rainwater harvesting as an effective and sustainable solution in the face of lack of water, climate extremes (drought, floods) which weaken the ecosystems as well as communities.

Who we are?

The International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) is a Swiss based NGO organization established in Geneva since 2002. IRHA has the mandate to promote rainwater harvesting as an effective and sustainable solution in the face of lack of water, natural disasters such as floods and droughts, which weaken the ecosystems and communities. We work with the authorities of the countries, water services but also watershed committees or communities themselves through the the implementation of water resources projects.IRHA develops initiatives with its partners that structure the organization's strategy. Why are we different? Simply because we develop sustainable responses that respect balances and ecosystems and above all the water cycle. By optimizing available rainwater resources, we respect the local hydrological balance while giving back this resource (after use) to the land and ground water. Since rainwater harvesting systems are gravitational, our carbon footprint is nul.
