IRHA at the 4th World Water Forum in Mexico 2006
" Local Actions for a Global Challenge "
The International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance convened a session in the official programme of the IV World Water Forum entitled, "Rainwater, watershed management & food sovereignty".
The co-convening organisations were the Post-Graduate College's International Centre for Demonstration & Training in Utilising Rainwater CIDECALLI and UNEP. This alliance presented four local actions.
IRHA also organised a half a day session on the Swiss stand presenting many valuable projects and organisations (Ramsar convention, WMO, IRRI, UNEP FI and others).
In the time of the Forum, IRHA and its partner and member CIDECALI provided 800 bottles of purified rainwater for the Swiss stand and many visitors were delighted to discover the mild, light taste of the rainwater.
