The IRHA in a Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the UN

I am extremely pleased to share with you the news arrived recently to our organization: the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), at its Substantive Session of July 2010, adopted the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), to grant the International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) with Special Consultative Status to the UN.

Blue Schools in Togo and Benin
In these 4 schools of Benin and Togo, there are just 8 toilets and no water supply. This project aims to provide access to drinking water and toilets to the 2,354 children and 60 teachers of these schools.

Blue Schools in Senegal
To improve the studying and teaching conditions of two schools in Kahone, access to water and sanitation in the schools will be increased, improving the health and living conditions of the children and teachers. Efficient and low cost technologies, which can be easily reproduced in neighbouring schools and villages, will be provided.
