New Board of Directors - 10 December 2009

The IRHA is pleased to announce its new Steering Committee. The new Members were voted in unanimously by the outgoing Committee Members and the Secretariat in a meeting on the 9th December. The new Committee comes into force immediately and we are looking forward to working together in 2010.

The new Directors and their position in the IRHA structure are:

Mr Alain Dick was elected as President of the IRHA. Mr Dick was the Charge d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of Timor-Leste to the United Nations, Geneva, between 2004 and 2009. He is currently a Senior Adviser and Special Envoy to the Head of State of Timor-Leste and Nobel Peace Prize winner, President Jose Ramos Horta.

Dr Hari Krishna is the new Vice-President of the IRHA. Dr Krishna has held several prominent roles in the field of rainwater harvesting. He was a former Senior Engineer in the Texas Water Development Board, Founding Member and former President of the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) and former Executive Vice-President of the International Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (IRCSA).

Mr Darren Hart is the new IRHA Secretary. A specialist in Communications, he has worked for several notable organizations including the "Institut universitaire romand de santé au travail" and Public Services International.

Mr Maimbo Malesu was re-elected as an IRHA Director. Mr. Malesu is the Executive Director of the Southern and Eastern Africa Rain Water Harvesting Network (SEARNET) and a member of the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) team in Nairobi, Kenya.
