International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) & Watershed Organization Trust (WOTR) are jointly organizing a training/workshop on : Rainwater Harvesting in the heart of the Micro Farming and Food Security in Watershed Development Programmes.

 

 

Main objective

Enlarging the number of professionals involve in the development process, ready to start implementation of rainwater harvesting projects for improved food security.

Targeted publics

• Local and medium national level politicians al and administrative authorities.

• Representatives of grassroots non-governmental organizations with reliable track-record.

• Other NGO leaders or local level water managers.

 

 

Methodology

Teaching will be done through alternating the theory of Watershed Development process with easily replicable techniques from implemented projects.

 

Venue

Classroom sessions and field visits to water projects will take place in India, state of Maharashtra, at WOTR’s training centre Darewadi.

 

 

Expected results

• Participants will be able (in the beginning, with tutoring) to formulate and survey similar programmes.

• The participants’ knowledge and awareness of the importance of RWH and its importance are increased.

• The participant’s personal and professional networks and contacts are enlarged.

Each participant will receive a certificate at the end of the workshop.
