Project implementation

1st Pillar - Project implementation

------------------------------------------------------

The IRHA onsite Rainwater Harvesting projects aim to provide sustainable access to safe water, thereby improving both livelihoods and ecosystem conservation.

The alleviation of poor sanitation conditions is also a central part of the implemented activities, due to their close link with the inadequate supply of clean water.

Capacity building and awareness raising

2nd Pillar - Capacity building and awareness raising

------------------------------------------------------

Created as a platform for promotion of Rainwater Harvesting worldwide, the IRHA is fully engaged in awareness raising and knowledge exchange activities, enhancing South-South and North-South collaboration.

The sensitization of the young generations is another of its priorities.

Reinforcing the RWH movement
3rd Pillar - Reinforcing the RWH movement

------------------------------------------------------

The IRHA functions as an umbrella organisation, so one of its main tasks, is to federate the Rainwater Harvesting movement and to build an alliance of rainwater harvesting organizations, diverse yet united.

Thus, the IRHA aims to create synergies between the major stakeholders in the Rainwater Harvesting sector at international, regional, national and local levels.

Political positioning of RWH
4th Pillar - Political positioning of RWH

------------------------------------------------------

Rainwater Harvesting is a strategic and sustainable wy of acheiving the Millenium Development Goal for freshwater and is a powerful tool for climate changes adaptation.

The IRHA works to influence policy at local, national, regional and international levels, thereby raising Rainwater Harvesting to the top of the political agenda.
