In many countries the situation on water resources is getting more and more serious. The increase of demand of water water supply, the overextraction and mismanagement of groundwater resources combined to a recurrent pollution of water resources are putting millions of people in extremely vulnerable position.
If in many regions the amount of rainfall precipitation would be sufficient to cover for all the needs, the poor management of the resources feeds the degradation of the situation. Appropriate water resources management should be applied.
Since in many places, enough water is available during the rainy season, this water resource should be captured, stored in ponds, infiltrated into the ground to recharge the aquifer. This resource should be made available to cover the needs of communities during the dry season without digging deeper wells and endangering even the aquifer.
